Point values

Each hole is worth a different number of points. The harder the target, the bigger the reward.

Setup

  1. Mount the Tino board securely to a wall or prop it against a sturdy surface at a slight angle. The board should be stable and not move when hit by a bean bag.
  2. Switch on the electronic scoreboard using the power button at the base of the board. The three LED displays will light up — the centre shows the timer/round counter, and each side shows a player score.
  3. Stand back from the board. We recommend a throwing line 2 to 3 metres away for adults, or 1.5 metres for younger players. Mark the line with tape if you like.
  4. Divide the bean bags equally between players or teams. Each player gets the same number of bags per round (we recommend 5 each).

How to play

  1. Players take turns throwing one bean bag at a time, aiming for any of the six holes on the board.
  2. When a bag passes through a hole, the electronic sensor detects it and automatically adds the points to the active player's score on the LED display.
  3. If a bag hits the board but doesn't go through a hole, no points are scored — but the bag stays in play for style points.
  4. After all bags have been thrown in a round, collect them from behind the board and start the next round.
  5. Continue for an agreed number of rounds (we suggest 3 to 5 rounds). The player or team with the highest score at the end wins.

Game variations

Once you've got the basics, mix things up. Tino has three alternative modes — Target Chase, Countdown and Speed Round — with full rules in five languages.

Tips

  1. Underarm throws with a gentle arc tend to be more accurate than overarm throws. Think horseshoes, not cricket.
  2. The centre red hole (50 points) is smaller and harder to hit. If you're behind on points, go for it — otherwise the 20 and 25 holes are better value for consistent scorers.
  3. Keep a bag or two for the end of a round so you can make strategic throws when you know the score gap.
  4. For outdoor use, avoid playing in strong wind as lightweight bags can be affected mid-flight.

Care & storage

Wipe the board clean with a dry cloth. Store indoors or in a dry place. The electronic scoreboard runs on batteries or USB power — remove batteries if storing for long periods. Bean bags can be wiped down with a damp cloth if needed.
